A reflection on the last 6 months

Hey y’all! Whew! Friday is July 1. Literally, half the year GONE. Chile, it’s been a rough couple of years already and THIS month has been a trip. First, let’s dive into what’s next and how to get through the rest of the year!

January to June

Okay, so we had monumental things happen this first half. Abortion legislation, Trump Jan 6 trial, elections for the midterms and so on. The new year filled with resolutions for us to get back to some sort of normalcy. COVID, thank you! Has and had us thinking about our health and wellness. So, we test and wear masks. We fell off the horse and got back up, BAM! We’re back in the restaurants again! So, my question is this…what are doing for the rest of the year?

Not to disallow the other things on my list, we know politics play a role in how the world turns; sometimes we don’t want to get involved. When the rubber meets the road, we have to talk about it, especially when it’s at your own front door.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. Jesus

So, the view is clear. Address what’s at hand and act accordingly. Answer the door! Get your head outta the sand! OK, next!

Moving forward, let’s focus on what’s ahead. Go vote in November, take a vacation THIS summer, hug your kids and stay the course! I won’t get into what’s on TV, that’s not my call. I just touched on it to help you see what’s up.

Let’s stay positive and not ONLY reflect on the first half of the year. Let’s go into July like a roaring lion! And the rest of the year!

Stay cool, safe, vigilant and blessed. Love y’all 🤘🏾

No caption, just vibes

Monday evening blues…

Nothing on TV? Reruns? Binging Netflix?

Ain’t nothing new on tonight

I decided to take my kids to the park. I’ll go walk and take some much needed breaths. Woosa! Enjoying them, fresh air and so on.

THIS is where that prepping comes in handy! I already made dinner and my husband’s lunch is done. So…. Let’s go outside!

What we did Saturday and will do again later!

No cool down in sight. Just heat and missed opportunity for rain. 😔 As a native Vegan, I miss the weather from the 80s! We had monsoon season! It’d be raining by now in 1989! LoL

Take the small victories and enjoy what you have. I’ll take a walk in the park anytime!

Peace and blessings lovies 🤩

Make the most out of your week

Morning jewels. I’ll start by saying happy Monday 😃 glad to be alive! On this side and being seen yet not viewed. We’ll start by looking at Monday as a new beginning and not the end of the weekend. Let’s dig in.

Start your week on Sunday evening, not Monday morning. Usually, Sunday evenings are spent lounging, doing crossword puzzles and getting lunches ready. Now that’s it’s summer, the kids are up a little later and eating cool things. Implement a bedtime of about 10 or 11pm if you engage with a movie 🍿🍿 night! Also, prep non cooking lunches and dinners. Long cook times equal dishes. Not my friend.

Light exercise 💝 is self care. Some yoga by an outdoor pit or just in the den with the fan on, helps you sleep 💤😴 even better! Wake up Monday morning feeling brand new and wanting to keep doing stretching exercises throughout the week. You’ll thank me later!

Journaling or reading makes your brain less tired in the morning. Once you start a habit or new things, 21 days it becomes a meaningful habit! Again, start routine(s) Sunday night for a beautiful week!!!

Get a pretty notebook. Look at my Pinterest boards for ideas! Pinterest: queenC2u

NOW, everything can’t get crammed into a night, but you can create life changes any day of the week. As long as it becomes a fulfilling activity, the family may join in.

Lastly, eat as a family as much as possible! Sunday was made for family! Sit down, no phone, no politics. Just eat and laugh! Make sure the food is good ☺️ and enjoy.

Knowing what you have to do for the week will make it productive. Instead of throwing everything on the line AND NO lists, you may be doomed. I try to do my best and write it down. Blogging helps too! I hope this finds you guys thinking what’s next and handle it ALL. On a Sunday evening 🌆 or a Thursday night!

Peace ✌🏾 and blessings lovies 🤩

Great weekend fun!

Hi y’all! It’s Saturday and the kids are all played out! Took them to the park and the water toys were in full swing.

Kharina, Neriah and Curtis

Thanks to 100+ degree days, living here makes you decide if it’ll be a pool day or play in the den day. Sometimes, we go out due to an errand; it better be important! Or things get done by 10 am. After 11 am until 8pm the weather guys suggest you stay indoors. The UV index is way too high between that time. My kids have adjusted accordingly.

So much going this week and I’m going on and on about the heat. GOD gave us shade, so we shelter in place as much as possible!

Go Snoopy go go go!!

Stay cool, blessed and safe! The 4th is coming up. Prayers for the nation and the world. Until next week, peace ✌🏾 and blessings 😌

When you done all you can do, you stand!

Morning lovies! Mid-week and monsoon season here in Vegas.

Out the window at the eye doctor

With the holiday past us, I’m breathing new air! Not to relish on it, but my dad would be proud! I have opportunities coming up and my family will be amazed! I’ll let y’all know of course.

The weather change brings changes of all sorts. Here in the 🏜️ desert, the tortoise 🐢, birds of prey get closer to humans. They engage with us for more secure shade and food.

It also brings heat and slick roads! The freeway stay with the emergency vehicles on the side! I’m waiting for September like..😁 school, cooler weather AND football 🏈

Amazingly beautiful skies on the way and staying in the house. Just leave for errands. Don’t get your hair wet. Keep the kids covered. Get the rain guarantee for the car wash. So many things to do! When you’ve done all you can, just stand. Stand STILL!

Be STILL and know that I am GOD

Enjoy the hump 🐫 day fam! Peace ✌🏾 and blessings

Writing from under the hairdryer

Evening lovies. So relaxing to have a few minutes to myself. I’m getting my monthly color and perm touch-up and I think about how I can make the transition beautiful back to reality when I’m done.

Under construction 🚧🏗️

Not too be full of flowers and peace vibes, but I needed THIS! Remember readers, it’s the 43rd death anniversary of my Father, brother and grandpa. I’m feeling pretty melancholy today. But, this is so uplifting! The finished product will be beautiful! I’ll show y’all!

Between the Graves’ disease, Father’s Day and just plain old aging, I’m worn out. THANK YOU GOD for the spa!

I’ll post a picture when I’m done on my site! It’ll be worth it. Just like waiting on the LORD for an answer, it’s worth the wait. Until later lovies, stay blessed and happy 😁 ✌🏾

What are you doing for Father’s Day?

Midweek greetings y’all! Father’s Day is Sunday and we celebrate Dads everywhere!

My hero. I lost him 43 years ago.

Yes, my caption says I lost him 43 years ago; I also lost my grandfather and older brother on Father’s Day weekend fatefully 43 years ago. I was 6. Sad to had so much loss at an early age. I feel awesome that I’m fighting and STILL here!

I joined the Navy at 18 to prove that I don’t have to be afraid of water. I wanted all to see that I’m ok. 5 years and a child later, I resigned from the military. It didn’t stop me from keeping those principles my dad and grandpa taught me, who were also military veterans.

Army and Marines in my DNA! Uuurah!

My grandmother raised me and my older sisters until she left us as I turned 17 in 1990. So grateful for the opportunity to be raised by her! Not CPS, strangers or myself. Grandma gets her own blog though. She’s so worth it!

It more than funny ties and a picnic. It’s more than a cute noodle card made in kindergarten class. It’s knowing the validity of love. Love even in loss, flowed from mama, daddy and grandma. So many ancedotes! I try to be me and not my parents to my own! Towers blood flowing from Oklahoma tribal lands, Louisiana beaches and Texas wide open spaces.

The trickle down effect. Dealing with loss as a kid. Needing therapy so soon. All these sentences show what’s next!!! Instill excellent values and pride in my future generations. Give them a glimpse of what they laid and left for me.

You will always be in my heart ❤️ always a daddy’s girl!

Until next time, stay blessed ✌🏾
