Hey fam! I got so many ideas and thoughts coming up on the horizon! I have three jobs at my counseling office. YES, three! Intake, billing specialist and a counselor! God has blessed me with a great head on my little shoulders and I’m dishing it out to y’all!

Hey y’all! As I reflect on the past week, Fat Tuesday and Ash Wednesday has come and gone. Now, starting today, it’s 40 days until Good Friday. Meaning, it’s time to pull back from some things. I’m going to begin reading a book while on my Lent. It’s called The 40 day Sugar Fast. It was given to me by my Pastor’s wife and we’ll do weekly zoom meetings to discuss it.
I’m hearing that Lent is antisocial and counter culture. ??? Why? Because someone wants to have more while letting The Lord work.in your life? If it’s not for you, don’t do it. That’s the way this works. Some won’t fast. Others won’t even imagine changing anytime soon. So, I’m not forcing anything on anyone. The way I see it, soon it’ll come when you have to pick a side. And IYKYK.
The spiritual part of it is what I’m thinking about. The world can’t steal my joy! I can’t let nobody have it either! Sometimes, you have to stop 🛑 literally just stop! OK, rant over. I’m going to go read a book. Cutting back TV too.
Happy Valentine’s Day y’all! I had to work today, but my baby and my daughter decided to get me some roses and chocolate covered strawberries 😋 they are almost gone! I thank God that I have the love of a great man! He makes sure I’m secure and straight in every aspect of my life. I usually have some anxiety about bills or the kids. He reassures me of the faith in GOD that it will be ok. So we might wing it some months, money gets funny. Or we do well and we can go out to eat on Sunday after church with everyone, and I mean all six of us!
No long drawn out blog about love and or story. Just enjoy today with your sweetie or yourself. Love is love. No matter where you find it. Good is always available for a listening ear. A gentle shoulder too. As I sign off to go to dinner, remember love is all you really need! Straight from the Father! And me!

He fought for our freedom, he died so we can have more justice. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. stood for what we feel we deserve, freedom of speech and peace. Not once did he say we shouldn’t be stifled by the color of our skin or nationality. Grateful for the fighting spirit of him!
I’m only going on 50, I wasn’t born or thought of when he was here. My grandma used to talk of his speeches and the March on Selma. Some people remember or recall hearing about Bloody Sunday; hence the March on Selma. Walking over the same bridge Senator John Lewis marched as well and those who were there. A sense of calm as I experienced what feelings washed over those who encountered the police, fought back and lived to tell a heroic story!!!
Let us not forget his words and what he went through. Let us not abandon the truth and carry resentment towards our fellow man. Let’s live, love and laugh.

Summer is still here and the weather has its fun! We were hit with monsoon weather for the past week. The kids enjoy huddling together to watch a movie or play a board game as the wind howls like Halloween ghosts outside. Let me slow down, soon I’ll be blogging about Fall! The week has been very interesting!
We need the rain! Someone needs to win the lottery! We all could use a break! Also, as we peel back the calendar to August in a couple of days, I’m renewed and refreshed! I did THIS today ⬇️⬇️
To improve my chances of growing a full head of hair with Graves’, I decided to start over. My husband was in agreement 🤝 and my son was the first of my kids to see it! He said wow Mom! Go Mom 😃 Trust, you guys get ALL the tea ☕ first, steaming with lemon!

As y’all know, I have Graves’ disease. I mention this because before I would’ve said the tiredness was due to stress with the kids and stuff. It wasn’t. A proper diagnosis has me on the right road to begin healing. For myself and my family. When you begin to see what needs to be done, you start. 21 days to achieve a goal and make what you do or don’t do a habit. So, when you stop eating sugar as if it’s going out of style, your body reacts. When you stop drinking, your body reacts. Everything is done with a purpose lovies. For His glory, for yourself.
So when it seems as a hope is lost! Don’t fret! Don’t give up either. It’s a little post, I have an appointment to get too. Also, my new haircut will be this week, I’ll post it.

THIS is where that prepping comes in handy! I already made dinner and my husband’s lunch is done. So…. Let’s go outside!
No cool down in sight. Just heat and missed opportunity for rain. 😔 As a native Vegan, I miss the weather from the 80s! We had monsoon season! It’d be raining by now in 1989! LoL
Take the small victories and enjoy what you have. I’ll take a walk in the park anytime!

Midweek greetings y’all! Father’s Day is Sunday and we celebrate Dads everywhere!
Yes, my caption says I lost him 43 years ago; I also lost my grandfather and older brother on Father’s Day weekend fatefully 43 years ago. I was 6. Sad to had so much loss at an early age. I feel awesome that I’m fighting and STILL here!
I joined the Navy at 18 to prove that I don’t have to be afraid of water. I wanted all to see that I’m ok. 5 years and a child later, I resigned from the military. It didn’t stop me from keeping those principles my dad and grandpa taught me, who were also military veterans.
My grandmother raised me and my older sisters until she left us as I turned 17 in 1990. So grateful for the opportunity to be raised by her! Not CPS, strangers or myself. Grandma gets her own blog though. She’s so worth it!
It more than funny ties and a picnic. It’s more than a cute noodle card made in kindergarten class. It’s knowing the validity of love. Love even in loss, flowed from mama, daddy and grandma. So many ancedotes! I try to be me and not my parents to my own! Towers blood flowing from Oklahoma tribal lands, Louisiana beaches and Texas wide open spaces.
The trickle down effect. Dealing with loss as a kid. Needing therapy so soon. All these sentences show what’s next!!! Instill excellent values and pride in my future generations. Give them a glimpse of what they laid and left for me.
You will always be in my heart ❤️ always a daddy’s girl!

Hey y’all! Monday Monday. The feel of a new week and what to gain to always keep a smile on your face.
Too many smiles? Too many affirmations? Oh well!!!! I ain’t going nowhere!
Some folks sunny disposition makes you wanna puke. Even the cloudy days, I smile. My kids see me as a beam of sunshine 🌞 even with Graves’, I still look for the effective awesome things.
Now that I’m diagnosed and have a handle on what’s wrong, I face the day with a view of what can I do to make someone smile. That’s my M.O. it’s what God’s kids do. It’s what keeps us from getting upset and cussing somebody out! If u can help you or bring you some solace, that’s effective. ALL day.
Never give up. Never see the glass half empty. Smile 😁😁😁 it could be worse!!!
